Honeywood A Great Game That Kept Us Warm
As the game against Honeywood just gets underway the first goal is already a fact. With some nice passing from Meagan...

... to Danielle, who put it behind the goalie. As Natalee got lucky not to get a penalty for slashing her way through, the second goal didn’t take up much time either. Samantha and Gillian worked nicely on that one.

The game picked up a bit more speed and as Cali come from behind her own net, gets the puck to Natalee, with a pass to Meagan who stayed strong on the boards, back to Natalee and a great shot, but stopped. The girls keep working and Allyson makes sure that puck stays in, Savannah gets it to Meagan and another hard shot almost makes it in as she works her own rebound as well.

Gillian intercepts the puck and works her way up and with a pass to Natalie who picks it up and hussles behind the Honeywood net, she almost scores a wraparound.

Jordyn shows some great passing as she gets the puck to Danielle and Jenna and her go for the 2 on 1.

As the second period starts, Cali gets a good chance as she fires one from the blue line, it stays in and a great pass from Natalee to Danielle, who waits for the best moment as she makes it 3-0.

The next goal didn’t have us waiting long too, which was great since the frost slowly moved its way up our legs and have our fingers turn colorless, Jordyn gets us on our feet moving as she makes it in from her end gives a shot on net, just misses, but Meagan is ready and as she throws herself on the Honeywood goalie she makes sure the puck goes in first, 4-0.

Natalie thought I am going to try that too as she makes her way from one end to the other and shoots wide.

Jenna gets up to the blue line and gives a hard shot towards the net, but is denied. Gillian brings the puck up all the way and with a great pass to Savannah in front of an open net...but she doesn’t see it. Allyson tries one just before the whistle, but no luck. As Honeywood had some technical difficulties with the goalie equipment, the temperature dropped even further, making Jenna decide to work on some figure skating moves, just to keep warm. Which awarded her with an applause from the audience. But as the game finally continued, Savannah got a few other chances in front of open nets, no luck, yet (it will come!!). Danielle showed some great passing to Gillian and she gives of a hard shot but the goalie is ready and although she also gets her own rebound, it doesn’t want to go in. Then a great set up with between Natalee, Natalie and Meagan gives the Rams their fifth goal. But they want more and Allyson fires a hard shot from the blue line, which on the rebound starts a hussle in front of the net, but the goalie is on top of it, literally. As face off in the Honeywood end by Danielle get the puck to Samantha, she doesn’t hesistate, she goes around, the puck makes it way to Allyson, pass to Cali and with a great pass to Natalee it almost went in, great set up! But the puck didn’t leave yet, Meagan get in on it on the boards, passes it up to Natalee, Gillian takes it and with a backhand to Natalie, who puts it nicely underneath the goalie, 6-0. Danielle and Gillian show some great passing again but no luck getting it in. But the last minute is approaching and they have one more for us to enjoy, as pass from Gillian to Danielle, who gets it to Natalie and the end score of this game comes to 7-0. Allyson hussles for one more and with great work from Natalee the goalie makes her final stop in the final seconds. This was a great game were everybody could try their moves, except for Marissa, as the audience kept checking on her, if she was still moving and not frozen to the ice. There was time enough to look and work on passing the puck, which you all did fantastic, unfortunately for some girls, their assist didn’t made it to the game sheet, as the referees did not seem to give out second assists. Girls you had a great game, the audience loved it and it kept us from freezing to benches!
