As the Rams start pushing forward at the start of the game against the Ravens...
...the first goal and the second one about a minute later is for Waterloo. As Jenna get off a good shot from the blue line, which is pick up by Samantha, who gives another shot, stopped by the goalie. Savannah takes on a few Waterloo players an almost makes it thru. As Samantha intercepts the puck from the Ravens, she doesn't hesitate and quickly makes it to their net, a great shot stopped. As the Mount Forest defence is slow to react, Waterloo takes advantage and the third one is in. Natalie also gets a good chance as she nicely outplays a few Waterloo Ravens but no luck outplaying the goalie. Danielle gives a great pass to Meagan who gets away with it and the shot becomes a bouncing puck that sticks underneath the goalie.
The second period starts off with what probably was the best opportunity to score, as Gillian misses not one but two chances to get that nasty zero of the score board. Jenna and Jordyn do some great passing to each other in the Waterloo end and keep the Ravens on their toes. Meagan gets it around on the boards and passes it on to Haley, where it gets picked up close to the Waterloo net.
Danielle show some great stick handling as she outplays Waterloo and passes it on the Natalie but just a bit to wide to pick up, good work! Allyson shows off great back checking and Jenna helps her out by diverting the puck around her own net.
Cali gets pushed around a lot by the Waterloo players but she stands firm and it gives Natalie the chance to get out of the Mount Forest end and take it up all the way. Danielle and Gillian work hard together the keep the puck in and almost succeed as it gets picked up by Waterloo and has Marissa making another good save on the buzzer.
As the third gets under way, Jordyn takes initiative and goes for the Waterloo net, her shot rebounds and Danielle is their and hers goes just wide.
Then the passing from Mount Forest to Waterloo instead of from Mount Forest to Mount Forest started again, the girls slowing down and for a while only one half of the ice was in use and guess which side that was...it ended with a nice pass from Cali to Natalie and a good shot was stopped. Samantha works hard on the boards, Natalie picks it up and back to Samantha but it just doesn't want to go in. The game turns towards our end again, but Jordyn smoothly interferes with their plans. But the Rams keep running in to a wall of white and the final score comes to 4-0. As we tried to describe what kind of game it was, well...indeed and I quote "a typical friday evening 8 o'clock game...!"
