A Game... or a Talent Show... You Girls Rocked!!
This game starts off impressive, it is one game that lets the girls show off what they are made off...
Samantha, Meagan and Haley put the pressure on in the first shift and some great passing between them as the go for the Saugeen net. There was room to do that in this game and they definitely did. Danielle gets close as she tries to loop one in. But its is Meagan who gets the first one of the game, with Gillian making sure it gets around the net with a pass to Natalie, she shoots from close up it gives a rebound and Meagan is ready for that one. A quick change from Mount Forest confuses the Saugeen players and as Samantha, Haley and Natalie bring it in, it ends with the puck being poked underneath the goalie and in the net, 2-0. Then off the face off, Natalie wins it passes it to Gillian and she takes off, shows some nice moves and the 3-0 is on the board.
Cali goes for it as well and brings it up from behind a great shot goes just wide. But the girls keep working together and Haley and Danielle show teamwork with Allyson and Meagan the get close.
The second period starts with a lot of fast skating back and forth and Savannah getting closer and closer showing a great backhand pass. As Danielle and Gillian help Meagan to her second goal of the game, 4-0. The fifth goal follows rapidly as and makes it a hatrick for Meagan! as she picks up a stopped shot from Danielle.
Allyson's hard shot of the blue line rebounds to Natalie and it slides in the Saugeen net, 6-0. They try that again, but this time the Saugeen goalie is all over it, literally.
As the shifts follow each other with quick changes, it is a pleasure for everyone watching. The tension keeps building, we know there is more coming. Gillian shows some more moves and Danielle is right behind her as the press on for the net. Jenna shows great timing as she lifts the stick at just the right moment and with a quick turn works it out of the Mount Forest end. The defence work is great to watch tonight and everybody helps out. Savannah works the boards and as Haley finds herself surrounded by 3 girls in blue, she still manages to pass it away to Natalie, there is an advantage in being low to the ground!
As the third period starts it is finally Savannah turn as Jenna gives a nice pass to Meagan and help Savannah getting the 7th goal on her name and I think she still sits with her arms up in the air!
Then a game of bowling started as Saugeen tried another approach to some chances and the girls in green got thrown of their feet. But the scoring went on and finally one of Danielle many loops made it in and what a beauty it was, 8-0.
As Savannah gets the puck around the Saugeen net and passes it to Natalie, who gets it on Gillians stick and it hits the post. As the puck comes of the face off to Jenna a hard blueliner slides right underneath the goalie for the 9-0.
Passes keep coming from behind and Cali brings it in, Gillian takes over and gets the score to 10-0, which is also the final score. Meagan goes in for a loose puck in front of the Saugeen net but the goalie is a little bit faster. Gillian tries one more time with a shot, it is stopped and the rebound stays out either. As Danielle gives Haley a chance to score, but the puck stays out. A game full of tension which got all the spectators on their feet, what a great game, Thanks girls!!!
