That's the way we like it!!!
The trash talk started in the hallway as last years team mate (now turned rival) Andrew Zorychta led his Shelburne Wolves into our rink for an exhibition match.  A little more razzing from players and coaches during handshakes and it was time for our boys to make him wish he had never left.

The first period had some good end to end hockey with all our players working together.  This teamwork led to Brennon scoring his first of the season with help from Jordon and Austin.  A minute later a deflected puck found its way past Tyler, tough one but that's ok.  With lightening speed, Ryan heads up the ice on a breakaway, the shot is stopped but unfortunetly his wingers haven't caught up yet for the rebound.  Shelburne grabs the puck and heads back to our net but their bullet is no match for the red hot glove of Tyler!  With only a minute left, it's Kieran to  Carsten who feeds "Ryan the Rocket" and he makes no mistake this time...2-1 Mount Forest.
The second period saw the two teams evenly matched and determined.  Kyle was on top of his game playing solid defence and frustrating the Shelburne forwards.  Sooner or later that kind of work will land you on the game sheet and his mark was made with a trip to the penalty box for interference.
Jordon (sporting the C for the game) leaves the Shelburne goalie shaking his head after Mitchell passes the puck to him right in front of their net.  Jordon wastes no time turning around and backhands it up to the top corner making what would be the final score of 3-1 for us.
Although we picked up a few penalties in the third period, we learned from our mistakes in Walkerton and didn't take a single head contact one.  We continue to improve each week and are really coming together as a team.  The boys are looking forward to the start of the regular season and will face Durham Friday night at 6:30 for the Reeves Cup Challenge.
