Juvenile Rams Hitting Stride
After dropping their first 3 games of the season and only scoring 1 goal in the process, the Rams are starting to find the net.  Despite only scoring 1 goal after their first 3 games - that by Matt Kendall in a loss to Arthur, the Rams never stopped skating and checking hard.
They were finally rewarded in a Nov 2nd home match up with Lucknow.  The scoring drought ended with 3 second period tallies, first Colin Moran from JD Pinder, then Evan Shortreed from Pinder and Ian Corley to take a short lived 2-0 lead. After Lucknow narrowed the gap to 2-1 Jordan Barber notched his first of the year  with only 15 seconds left in the period to restore the 2 goal spread. Helpers  went to Moran and Justin Coburn.  Moran and Coburn were at it again in the 3rd period when they set up Barber again to end the scoring for a 4-1 victory.  Goalie Brett Aitken was solid in net.

Friday night found the Rams on a road trip to Seaforth which has provided them with quite a rivalry over the past few years, both at the Silver Stick and in WOAA championships. This turned out to be quite a thriller.  Despite falling behind 2-0 quickly in the first period the Rams did rally late in the period  to pull within 1 on a pretty goal by JD Pinder from Captain Ian Corley.  A similar play was set up by Justin Coburn when he worked hard down the right wing to get off a shot on goal. Colin Moran was the recipient of a juicy rebound he burried into the empty net.  After Seaforth took a 3-2 lead Pinder responded again to tie it up from Ryan Pinder.  The 2nd period ended up tied at 3 each and saw plenty of action both ways will several solid hits being dished out by Ryan Pinder.
The 3rd period started out as a nightmare for the Rams.  Seaforth quickly potted 3 markers to take what appeared to be an insurmountable lead.  The Rams never gave up and started to chip away at the lead as 16 minutes still remained.  Forchecking hard and driving to the net started a remarkable comeback.  JD Pinder completed the hat trick from Ian Corley and Evan Shortreed.  Less than 3 minutes later Corley set Pinder up for his 4th of the game to pull them within 1.  Matt Ostrander tied it up at 6-6 on some hard work in front of the net. With only 5 minutes left in the game Colin Moran gave the Rams their first lead on a nice set up from Mitchell Ferguson and Zach Arthurs.  Credit the Seaforth squad for not buckling in as they came back to net the final goal of the game with only 2:25 left to finish this marathon game at 7-7.  These teams will no doubt be providing the many fans in attendance with a few more memorable battles before the season is over.
