Rams Grab Split on busy weekend.
The Juvenile Rams travelled down Highway 6 for a Friday evening tilt with the Vipers in Arthur.  The drastically shorthanded squad put on a heroic effort. With only 7 skaters the Rams did eventually fall to the Vipers by a 7-2 margin but every man (and woman) played with a ton of heart.  The Rams did manage a couple of goals - Roice McDougall-Lamont with his first of the year with the helper to Evan Shortreed in the 2nd frame, followed by Colin Moran notching one from the corner of the net with Matt Ostrander doing all the work.  Of note, Krystal Corley made a strong debut with the Rams late in the 3rd period and came up with several nice saves.

The Rams followed up their road game with a fine effort at home Sunday afternoon against Teeswater.  The teams battled to a 0-0 standoff after 2 periods.  The Rams had several chances - both Aaron Capell and Justin Coburn had great scoring chances on breakaways, but were turned back by a strong netminder for Teeswater.  Brett Aitken came up solid between the pipes to keep the game knotted after 2.  Evan Shortreed had a pretty set up to JD Pinder, only to see that effore turned away.  Ian Corley came up short at the end of the 2nd period after a brilliant effort down the wing saw him turned away by a  brilliant glove save.
The 3rd period saw the Rams finally rewarded for all their effort.  First Mitchell Ferguson  scored on a blast from the point after a nice face off win, puck deep into the corner and nice feed back to Ferguson.  Assists going to Matt Ostrander and JD Pinder.   Colin Moran had a rocket from the point just sail inches over the bar moments later. With 4:39 left in the 3rd, Ostrander notched an insurance marked with a nice tip in from Aaron Capell and Tristan Rae.  Ryan Pinder notched a beauty less than a minute later with a nice steal at the blue line.  He waltzed in all alone, crossed in front of the netminder then roofed a shot off the cross bar and down into the net to provide the final margin of victory at 3-0.  Brett Aitken was full value for the shutout with a little help from the cross bar late in the 3rd.
First Star:  Matt Ostrander
2nd Star: Brett Aitken
3rd Star: Mitchell Ferguson / Ryan Pinder
Honorable mention to Aaron Capell who leads the league in scoring chances
