Busy Weekend for Atom LL
Atom LL travelled to the Mitchell arena for a Saturday afternoon game versus the Mitchell Meteors. After exchanging numerous scoring opportunities at both ends, Mitchell got one by Hunter midway through the 1st period.
The Rams responded midway through the period and Nathan scored the first goal for the Rams, assisted by Joseph and Ethan. The 2nd period saw much of the same action, with fast breaks and great saves at both ends of the ice. Again Mitchell scored around the midpoint and took a 2-1 lead. It was a nail biter by the time the teams entered the 3rd period. There was more back and forth action, with chances at both ends, but neither team managed to produce any scoreboard results for their efforts. However, with less than 2 minutes left in the game, the Rams scored to tie the game 2-2. Joseph scored the tying goal, assisted by Ethan and Brett. The boys worked hard for the tie. Great effort by everyone!!
On Sunday, the boys hosted the Minto Ice Dogs (Atom LL #2). The ability to keep the puck deep in the oppostion's end and bad bounces were a few of the problems which saw Minto get the first two goals of the game. The Rams responded with two goals. The goal scorer for the game was Ethan with 2. Joseph assisted the first goal. Hunter was in net and made some fantastic saves to keep his team in the game. While there was plenty of time on the clock to score more, none of the Ram roster were able to get throught to the net.
The team will be playing in the Husky Day hosted by the Durham Huskies on Saturday December 10th. Their first game will be at 11:15 am. Good luck boys!!
