Saturday's game against the Walkerton Hawkes saw our girls come together as a team and put us in the win column for the first time this year, with lots more to come!
With a lot of new girls to the team this year, they have really been putting a lot of hard work and dedication into the game and it certainly paid off on Saturday with a 5 - 1 win over the Walkerton Hawkes! Nearly every girl got on the score sheet this game which just shows how much effort they are putting in to it. The scoring started off in the first period with a nice break away goal from Taryn North assisted by Chaise McRobb and Shea Lynn McLean. The girls got a taste of being ahead and refused to stop at one! The second period saw another break away goal from North after a nice feed up the boards from defense Jayde McRobb. We had definately ruffled the Hawkes feathers as the third period saw 3 more goals with one each to Ella Black - assisted by Chaise McRobb, Morgan Flanagan - assisted by Haven LeBlanc and North and the final goal from Paige Dowling after a relentless scrum in front of the net assisted by Black and North.
Awesome defensive play from Alia Gade, Jamie Glerum, Jayde McRobb and Shea Lynn McLean kept the Hawkes down to only 1 goal against "Stone Wall" Sandra Nanninga.
It was a great team effort by all... keep up the great work girls!
