Walter Gretzky Tournament
By Mark Carson. The girls played game 2 against Orillia. The girls fell a little short tonight losing 1-0. Evelyn was the Rams game MVP. So we are now 1-1 and looking to finish out the round robin with a win on Saturday afternoon against Wilmot. The girls are looking really sharp so far this weekend and even with the loss the girls were very competitive. They had plenty of chances to score and the only goal on Sandra was a nice wrist shot into the top corner. There are 8 teams in the peewee HL division and we know we can beat the 2 teams we have played. There is also 2 teams from the girls local league in which they have beaten both teams this year. So what I am trying to say is that we so far have just as good of chance to win this tournament as anyone else does.
Hopefully the girls can put together another strong effort and qualify for the semi finals on Sunday. The next game and the playoff rounds will be held at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre which is an unbelievable place to see for any hockey or Gretzky fan. Walter Gretzky is fully present walking around spending time with all teams and parents. The girls are fully enjoying the whole experience of this tournament and they even have there own professional photographer on their bench taking pictures of them as they play. So lets show the camera tomorrow how good you really are. LETS GO RAMS!!
