The Mount Forest Minor Hockey Association hosted its annual awards banquet on May 2 and five members of the peewee girls house-league team received trophies.
The awards were voted on by the bench staff and manager.

By Mark Carson. The girls finished the year with a final tournament in Brampton. This tournament is the largest girls hockey tournament in the world. It hosts teams from as far away as Japan, England and the United States. Our girls had another strong tournament going 1-1-1 and only came up one goal short of going into the semis. The first 2 games of the round robin were against Orangeville and Caledon. These 2 teams are the only teams this year that were able to run the score up on the girls. So the girls were looking forward to another chance to show themselves and their opponents that they are a better team than they have showed in past games. The girls had a 1-0 lead against Orangeville with 3 minutes left in the game on a point shot from Evelyn.

By Mark Carson. The girls played an exhibition Sunday afternoon against the Orangeville Tigers. The girls didn't have their best effort today and lost 4-0. At the end of the game both teams got a chance to practice 4 on 4 in case both teams have to play in overtime on Easter weekend in Brampton. If you didn't see the game but heard the score you might think that Sandra had a rough game having let in 5 goals. This couldn't be further from the truth as she faced 39 shots and made 34 saves. The girls should thank their goalie that the game wasn't a lot worse than it already was. The Rams play this Orangeville team in the round robin of the Brampton tournament and you can bet that girls will looking for a better effort in that game.
