Regular Season Home Opener
The girls opened their regular season at home today against the Wilmot Wolverines.
The first period was a rough start for our team as we were caught on our heels by an aggressive Wilmot team. The Rams surrendered 2 goals in the first frame to trail 2-0 entering the second. We kept skating hard to start the second and after some spirited play from both sides, the Rams found the back of the net with 3 minutes left in the 2nd period. The girls started the 3rd period trailing by one, these girls kept on skating and trying to get shots on the Wilmot net and with 5 minutes left in the 3rd we managed to sneak one by their goalie to knot the game at 2-2. The final few minutes Wilmot applied the pressure but our girls hung in there and even killed off a penalty in the final 2 minutes to end the game 2-2.
