Weekend Split
This weekend the girls played two new opponents for the first time and came away with a win and a loss.

On Saturday the girls travelled to Kitchener to face the Lady Rangers. It was a good game right from the start as both teams were evenly matched. Our girls struck late in the first to take a 1-0 lead heading to the second frame. After a scoreless second the Rams came out strong to start the third and were able to sneak another one past the Kitchener netminder in the first minute of the period. The Rams continued their strong play and added a third goal at the 5:00 minute mark and held strong to walk away with a well deserved 3-0 win.
Sunday the Rams played host to the Woolwich Wild and what a fast paced game it was. The Wild came out flying with their high speed attack and great hockey sense. Our girls held tough and kept the Wild at bay for the first period and managed to begin the second period knotted 0-0. Woolwich continued to penetrate the Rams defense and found the back of the net twice in the second to take a 2-0 lead in to third. Our girls kept working hard in the final period and definitely had some decent chances to bury one but just couldn't seem to find the spot. The Wild added one more goal in the third to skate away with a 3-0 win.
This weekend was HUGE in many different ways for these Lady Rams. First and foremost was getting their first regular season win in the Lower Lakes Atom B division. But perhaps Sundays defeat to the hands of Woolwich, the league leader,  will serve as a character building loss to a top notch B team. A 3-0 loss to them is very respectable for our girls.
It's going to be a tough season for these Mount Forest Rams playing in a higher division but I can only see positives from the experience. The girls will get pushed to the limit and will have to dig deep to play with the top teams in their loop. Competitive hockey is what we strive for and this season won't disappoint. This season will be an incredible learning experience for these young girls and very rewarding in more ways than just wins and losses.
Congratulations on a great weekend of hockey girls. GO RAMS GO!!!!!!!
