Rams Butt Heads with Huskies
The Rams hosted the Durham Huskies for a rare Thursday night game.

The last time the two rivals met Mount Forest won 3-0.  It was an action packed, fast moving game.  It was the first game after the Rams very intense practice where coaches were working on the teams trouble spots.  The results were astounding as the Rams played like a new team.
The second meeting of the two teams the Rams were missing two defencemen Jake Zeinstra and Hunter Elliott and  Derick Acheson was sporting an intense leg injury.
The 1st period Durham came on strong but after a rush in our end Weber tipped the puck to clear it out, took it down the ice and landed a wrist shot in the top shelf.
Mulder, Coburn, and Dallaire with great back checking, disallowed many scoring opportunities for Durham.  After a great shot on the net by Sylvestre, Durham stole the puck and with a hard wrist shot placed the puck right over Kroes' shoulder.
Kieffer and Reeves stopped many scoring chances with great poke checking to foul up Durhams rushes.
With just seconds left in the period Durham had a shot which Kroes stopped, but sent it back into traffic but was able to stop the rebound not once but twice before the buzzer ended the period.
The 2nd period Reaman and Acheson walked in Durhams end together.  Reaman with a pass to Acheson who then passed back to Reaman to score.
It was hard to tell Acheson had an injury as he set up Reaman in front of the net who then backhanded it to line mate Sylvestre to fire it in the net.
There was some noise coming from the visitors bench and after a brief meeting with the stripes the Durham coach was removed from the bench.  As a result the Rams had a 2-man advantage but were unable to score.  To make things more challenging Lewis waited until Durham was full strength to send the puck cross crease to a waiting Weber to score.
The next shift Hodgins picked it up at our blue line after Warren Zeinstra placed the puck on his stick to carry it down the ice to score in the left corner.
The next goal for the Rams the boys made look effortless.  Acheson to Reaman to Sylvestre and back to Reaman to score.
Unable to clear the puck out of their end Durham scored a tight one in the corner on Kroes.
Regrouping, the Rams bolted into the Durham end.  Acheson wrapped around the net to a waiting Reaman to lift it in.
The excitement in the stands was just as exciting as the action on the ice for the fans as spectators were escorted out.
Durham was wanting more and after playing a hard game the Rams were having trouble clearing the puck and allowing multiple shots on Kroes.  Durham was able to score two quick goals in the last 1:13 to end the game 7-4.
