Still Undefeated!!
Saturday afternoon's match up saw 2 of the top teams in the division facing off against each other.  With both teams looking to defend their undefeated titles we hoped it would be a fast paced, high action game and our girls did not disappoint us.

Within the first minute, our girls had the Bulldogs attention and Evelyn worked the blue line to ensure the puck never left their end.  When Brussels was able to get the puck down to our end our Rams were ready for them.  It was clear that these opponents were not going to give up so our girls stepped up their own game.  Megan became a bulldog of our own on defence...chasing down the puck, the player or their stick...whatever needed to be done to protect our net.  Down in the other end Taylor captured the puck and fired a bullet from the blue line that was just wide but made the fans inside jump...what a shot that girl has!
The first period ended with the score still tied at zero.  Quick words from the coaches and we were back at it.  Most of the second period was played in our end, giving Marissa more work than she's seen in the past few games.  An untimely defence change had the crowd on the edge of their seats when Brussels got a clear breakaway.  Hanna donned her superhero cape and flew down the ice to try to save the day.  They got a shot away but Marissa was able to get her pad on it and dive out onto the rebound.
More action came in the third period, with both teams determined to break the tie.  With 11 minutes left in the 3rd Jayde got our first shot on the Brussels goalie.  That push got them going and at the 9:13 mark Ariana was able to backhand the puck into the net on a play set up by Kyla and Addison.  Looking for an insurance goal Paige joined the line and kept the pressure on, passing the puck between them and searching for the rebounds.
One last breakaway from the "red pant rocket" was shut down by the defence team of Evelyn and Jayde.  Brussels pulled their goalie and even with the extra skater it was clear that the RAMS were coming out on top.

Still undefeated after 8 games (and getting stronger every game) clearly some of the best hockey you'll see happens at 1:30 pm Saturday afternoons in our arena.  Our next home game is Sat Nov 19 vs Normanby...come cheer on our Atom Girls...GO RAMS GO!!!!
