ATOM REPS ARE WOAA "CC" CHAMPIONS!!!
The Mount Forest Atom Rep Rams captured the WOAA "CC" Championship by defeating the BCH Ice Dogs 1-0 in the Game #4 - taking the best of five series 3 games to 1.

Congratulations RAMS!!!

The Atom Reps are now moving on to the All Ontario Semi-finals!!

On February 16th 2012, the Atom Reps traveled to Clinton for Game #2 of the All Ontario Quarter Finals.  The first period remained scoreless with the Rams carrying the play in the BCH Ice Dogs zone.

In the second Alex Iles took matters into his own hands with an end to end rush, beating the Ice Dogs goalie with a wrist shot high into the top corner.  Later in the second Iles was at it again, this time carrying the puck into the Ice Dogs zone and connecting with Brody Leblanc, who made no mistake putting the Rams up 2-0 - drawing the other assist was Luke Eurig.  Thanks to stellar goaltending by Morgan Troyer who stopped three breakaways in the first two periods - Mount Forest took a 2-0 lead into the third.

Mount Forest added two more in the 3rd - Evan Dewar rang one in off the post, finishing a nice passing play with Owen Troyer and Eli McCook.  The same line put the Rams up 4-0 with McCook stuffing the puck in with O.Troyer again notching an assist.  BCH did find the back of the Mount Forest net but it was too little too late and the Atom Reps took a two games to none lead in the best of five series - 4-1.

On the 18th of February, Mount Forest again had to play in Clinton looking for the three game sweep.  BCH however proved to be a worthy opponent and in Game #3 struck first, but the line of McCook, Dewar and O.Troyer replied with O.Troyer lifting the puck over the BCH tender tieing it a one a piece.  Late in the middle frame Iles put the Rams ahead with another great effort unassisted.

To the Ice Dogs credit they would not lay down and BCH capitalized on a fortunate bounce to tie the game late and then 16 seconds later they added another to shock the Reps 3-2.  Mount Forest attempted a late game charge but was unable to come back.

That set up Game #4 back in Mount Forest on the 22nd of February.

Game#4 was much like the previous three with the Rams speed and aggressive forechecking against the BCH physical play.

It wasn't till early in the second that either team was able to score.  Again, as they had done all series long - it was O.Troyer putting the Rams up 1-0 assisted by Dewar and McCook.  The Reps kept the pressure on with Leblanc, Eurig and Tanner Gordon getting several great scoring opportunities including a breakaway but the Ice Dogs goaltender stood tall.

It again came down to the 3rd period in a one goal game.  This time however the Rams would not be denied - the defensive zone effort and execution along with a timely toe save kept BCH off the score sheet.  Defensemen - Iles, Owen Weiser, Jake Kleinstuber and Owen Moyer locked down the Ice Dogs forwards and a total team effort ensured a Rams victory 1-0 and the WOAA CHAMPIONSHIP!

Congratulations Boys!  You earned it!

Next up for the Atom Reps is the semi-finals of the All Ontario.

Good Luck!
