Silver Stick Tournament
The Pee Wee C Girls were in the Silver Stick Tournament this weekend with some tough competition.

The first game of the tournament for the Rams was against the Petrolia Oilers.  It wasn't until the final minute of the first period that the Rams were able to settle down and start the scoring.  A goal by Hanna Gerrie assisted by Addie Fisher would give the Rams the lead going into the second.  In the second period the Rams would continue to pressure the Oilers and Aalia Gade would put the Rams up by two.  The Rams continued this impressive pressure throughout the second period and with less than a minute to go Morgan Flanagan would put the Rams up by three, assisted by Hanna and Taylor McLellan.  The Rams solid Defense had been able to contain the Oilers all game but in the third finally they were able to break through and with two quick goals they were back in the game.  Petrolia continued to pressure the Rams but the Rams defense held strong and would not let the Oilers get the tying goal.  First game was a 3-2 win for the Rams!!  The Game MVP was Jasmine Malott.

The second game of the tournament was against the Waterloo Ravens.  The Rams have played these Ravens before and knew that they would have their work cut out for them.  In the first period each team exchanged chances but both Goal tenders held strong and some excellent defensive plays on each team kept the game scoreless.  Half way through the second period the Ravens would strike first.  One thing about this Rams team is they don't let a goal against them effect their game and before the end of the second period the Rams had tied the game with a goal from Haven Leblanc assisted by Aalia Gade and Morgan Flanagan.  In the third period the Rams continued to play some excellent hockey and Aalia Gade would put the Rams ahead assisted by Haven and Addie Fisher.  The Ravens kept on coming and pressuring the Rams which resulted in the Rams taking a few penalties.  With two of the Rams defensive players in the box the Ravens took advantage of the 5 on 3 and tied the game.  With less than 5 minutes left in the game and the Rams just finishing killing off another penalty the Ravens struck again taking the lead.  Just thirty seconds after giving up the go ahead goal the Rams gave up another.  The Rams would lose this game 4-2.  The Game MVP was Haven Leblanc.

The third game of the tournament was against West Grey.  The Rams have played West Grey many times this year and know that it takes a great effort from the entire team to beat this Rival.  In the first period it would be West Grey that would strike first and starting the second the Rams found themselves trailing by one.  The Rams would answer back in the second and tie the game up with a goal from Hanna Gerrie assisted by Taryn North.  Each team continued to make some great plays throughout the second period.  It wasn't until the last few minutes of the second period that the Rams once again found themselves in Penalty trouble.  Having to kill off another 5 on 3 against a strong West Grey team proved to be to much for the Rams and West Grey got the go ahead goal.  In the third period down by one goal the Rams kept working hard but the West Grey defense held strong.  West Grey would strike two more times in the third for a 4-1 loss for the Rams.  The Game MVP was Taylor McLellan.

Although the Rams did not do as well as they would of liked in this tournament they did play some great hockey at times and if they are able to keep out of Penalty trouble they have the ability to win any Game!!
