MILDMAY
– The evolution of the Mount Forest bantam C's continued on
Saturday against the two-time defending WOAA champion South Bruce
Blades.
And what the Rams learned is that with a few minor adjustments, they can play with the opportunistic Blades who made off with a 3-0 win on Saturday in WOAA action.
“These games early in the year are all part of the building process for our girls,” coach Bill said.
“Each game we play is another building block that the girls can use later in the year. As we told them before the season, we're not winning a league championship in October. But we are building so that we'll be playing our best hockey later in the year when the tournaments and the games become increasingly important.”
The Rams also learned that their off-ice workouts do pay off. Despite having fewer skaters than South Bruce, Mount Forest was by far the better team in the third period in the 45-minute game.
Our next action is Monday against Lucknow-Wingham in Wingham at 7:45 p.m.
See everyone at the rink at 6:45 p.m.
