Rams post victory in Reeves Cup game

Blowouts are never fun for coaches on either side of the ledger.
So, it was with difficulty and quiet concern the all-female coaching crew with the Mount Forest bantam C Rams sent the troops out for a 9-0 verdict over the visiting Walkerton Capitals in Reeves Cup play on Wednesday.
The local girls are prepping for their first tournament of the season and the coaches were more than a little concerned that if they asked the Rams to take their foot off the pedal, too many bad habits would creep into their game without enough time to correct them.
So, off they went. And it wasn't pretty for the spirited Capitals who once again played hard until the final whistle.
For that, the Walkerton coaches should be very proud indeed.
Morgan F., Haven L. and Paige D. each scored a pair for Mount Forest. Emily A., Peyton M. and Olivia S. scored one apiece.
Alyssa V. posted her second shutout of the season.
Morgan F. led the way with four helpers while Haven L. added three.
The Rams practice Thursday night in Clifford at 7 p.m. before hitting the road Friday for tournament play in Mitchell.
