Rams draw even with Blades
By Christine Rivet CLIFFORD – The Mount Forest bantam C Rams got some good mileage out of a couple injury replacements en route to a scoreless draw with the South Bruce Blades on Thursday night.

Evelyn N. and Avery M. helped bolster a depleted Rams' lineup at the forward position, while goalie Sandra N. served as a reliable replacement for injured goalie Alyssa V.

The Rams started a little slowly in the neutral site game especially with so many players in unfamiliar positions.

But no matter, Sandra was right there again and again to turn away the South Bruce attack.
Sandra earned the Super Girl cape for effort while Emily A. was named the hardest worker.

The Mount Forest girls got into a little bit of penalty trouble but were able to fend off the Blades' two power plays on Thursday with a steady team effort.

“The hardest game always follows a big win from the night before,” said coach Bill W. “As a coach, you are always worried about a letdown.

“And while we didn't play our best on Thursday, we gave ourselves a chance to beat a very good team.”

The Rams, whose record is a commendable 9-6-4 (won-lost-tied) get a well-deserved break and aren't on the ice until Nov. 25 for an 8 p.m. practice.

Mount Forest hosts the Walkerton Capitals on Nov. 27 in its final league game of the first half.

Game time at the Mount Forest Community Centre is 8 p.m.
