The
Mount Forest bantam C Rams assembled an impressive bounce-back game
with a 4-2 decision over Lucknow-Wingham in Sunday's league play,
scoring three in the third period to preserve the win.
Jasmine M. came up big for the hosts, setting up three goals in a fine effort start to finish.
The Rams got goals from Emily A., Paige D., Olivia S. and Haven L. to snap their two-game losing skid.
The Rams had their all-too-familiar defensive letdown briefly in the third period, allowing a pair of goals two minutes apart as the visitors rallied to tie the score.
But the hosts dug down deep, responding with a pair of late-game goals to salt away the victory.
Abby W. took the super cape award for a fancy double reverse performed behind the Rams' net.
Olivia S., a.k.a. Olaf, captured the hard hat award with a determined effort in all three zones.
“It was so great to see the girls working hard and having fun,” said acting head-coach Mandi. “We were back to our old selves again.”
The Rams are back in action on Thursday for a 7 p.m. practice in Clifford.
And then it's a two-game weekend road trip with stops in Chatsworth on Friday at 7 p.m. and in Mildmay on Saturday 12:30 p.m.
