Ramstastic Weekend
The Pee Wee C team traveled to Mitchell this past weekend to take part in the Mitchell Meteors tournament and found some stiff competition but with hard work the girls came away with the tournament Championship. The girls had been working on some plays the last couple weeks at practice and this weekend showed they are actually listening they looked like seasoned veterans passing the puck all around.
The first game was against the Cold Creek Comets who seem like they would rather hack at legs than play the puck, so with that the girls decided no retailtion penalties lets show them on the score board. After 2 periods of play the score was 2-0 Rams with a quick game plan change to start the 3rd the girls poured it on finishing the game 7-0. Alyssa A , Lexi R, Chaise x2, Kate and Tori scored the goals with assists going to Chaise 3, Haven L, Lexi W, and Jordyn .
Game #2 VS. Lambeth Lancers and WOW what a hockey game this was back and forth as you can get,these 2 teams are very evenly matched. Sydney opened the scoring in the 1st period to take the 1-0 lead. Into the 2nd and Lambeth ties the game up at 1-1. Every girl on the team was into this game, it was end to end for both teams with tremendous backchecking efforts by all the girls. Finally into the 3rd Chaise scores the go ahead go to put us up 2-1 . With that the Lambeth team didn;t back down but through everything but the kitchen sink towards the net but our Goalie Brianna stood her ground behind the rock solid D core of Jayme, Lexi W, Jordyn and Haven who where outstanding all weekend. Final score 2-1 Rams with assists going to Jayme and Syndey and Bailey.
3rd game VS. Kincardine and if we win off to the finals the girls where a determined bunch and poured it on all game to come away with the 6-0 win. Chaise got the hat trick, Sydney, Kate, Tori. Assists to Kate, Chaise, Bailey, Lexi W, Alyssa and Haven.
Finals VS. West Oxford we knew very little about this team but we soon learned that they had 1 amazing little goalie we threw 33 shots at the net and finally off the face off we got a bounce off a stick to go ahead 1-0 halfway through the 3rd period . Up until then it was a great game with both sides playing hard. It seems the tougher the games the better our girls like it and as a coach that's great. With 4 minutes to play we got a penalty and were short handed when Bailey chipped a loose puck to Chaise and she tore down the wing to beat there D and scored short side between the post and the goalies arm to give us the 2-0 win and Tournament champions.
Every girl on the team contributed in some way all weekend to make this a complete team effort. The Pee Wee girls would like to congratulate the Atoms, Bantams and Midgets for all making it to the finals the is quite and accomplishment for our organization, The bantams also came away victorious as well. Way to go Girls.
