Thursday Night Throwdown
The U-15 gentlemen threw down the gauntlet to the Arthur Vipers tonight and the Vipers came out with the win.
Every challenge means obstacles must be overcome and the Rams faced those head on tonight in an action packed game against the first ranked Arthur team. They fell short 5-1, but not for lack of trying.
The Rams were able to keep the Vipers to one goal per first two periods, but could not find the back of the net themselves.
Goalie #1 Silas S. used every available piece of equipment he had to hold the Vipers when they struck. Blocked shots, defence pressure and back checking played a pivotal role in the low score until the third period, when the Vipers lashed three stealthy goals on the Rams. #16 Madden B. was able to pocket Mount Forest's lone goal, unassisted, with 2:26 left in the third.
The game was full of gripping moments of unselfish passes, hard digging on the boards and full-throttle effort for the Rams. Mount Forest U-15 season closer has left this fan wanting more action, hopefully Saturday's tournament will provide a re-match against these two gladiator teams.
