It is between Mount Forest and Normanby again. They started this tournament off against them and they end it against them, but what a world of difference...

Once again every single parent donated either time and/or raffle table prize; outdoing all the other teams!!

During the warm-up the Normanby Tiger did not wanted to leave the ice , the Normanby girls had to stickhandle him off (the theory is that Rambo the rambunctious Ram got a hold of him and fear melted him to the ice….)
The game started of with lots of pressure from Mount Forest to keep the puck in the Normanby end and it worked with an assist from Elyse at 2.44 minutes Natalie Eccles scored the first goal. The play goes back and forth and Esther has to make a good stop after the Mount Forest defence lost the puck.
As Avery goes for a breakaway she gets tripped and a 2 minute penalty leafs Normanby on the ice with only 4. Allyson teams up with Avery and Elyse scores a beauty, 2-0. In the last minute of this period another breakaway from Avery but it hit’s the goalie on the mask.
The second period starts of with a scramble in front of the Normanby net and Elyse takes advantage of that with help from Natalie E.
Then Normanby get a breakaway and the crowd curls their toes, but it gets stopped by Avery and Sydney, the do manage to give of a hard shot, but Esther is ready and she has to make another few. But Normandy is determined and take advantage of confusion in front of the Mount Forest net and it is 3-1.
Avery tries to answer their pressure, but the shot missed the open net, Elyse runs out in front of two Normanby players on a last rush in this period. The girls need the buzzer for a little rest.
The third period starts of with another breakaway by Avery but the game turns the other way quick and some good defensive play on the blue line from Mattea keeps the puck in the zone and Elyse can score the 4-1. The game goes on and the pressure is still very real and Esther has to step up she looks solid in the last minutes where Normanby pulled their goalie and give of lots of pressure two time outs later though the buzzer goes and instant relief…..

It was a game full of exitement on the ice and in the bench, everybody cheered for one another! It was a great feeling for those who repeated as champions and an even so awesome moment for those who did not have this pleasure last year, it did not matter, if they played a lot or not and that is what make those girls so special!!!
