The pressure was to much.....
The game starts of going to our end right away and Normanby does not give up...
As Avery gets a grip on the first breakaway from Normanby it does end in a hard shot on Esther. Elyse brings the puck in with Danielle on her heels and the set up a breakaway for themselves but they did not get to far. A two on one from Normanby almost ends up in our net. Avery took off from the Mount Forest end and it did look good but she got stopped. Esther had to take some shots at the body, but sofar the puck stayed out.
The girls have a hard time setting up an attack and although their goalie spends more time lying on the ice then standing up, this time Mount Forest doesn't manage to get it over her and in the net. Alyssa gives off a hard shot from the blue line but is stopped also. As the first period ends in a 0-0 hope is still there for Mount Forest as they can be good turning a game around. But no luck today.
As Normanby set off towards the Mount Forest end the defence is not fast enough and the first goal of the game is theirs. Natalie D. gets a tripping penalty and watches the game from the other side of the ice for a few minutes.
Then Abigail and Natalie E. go for a 2 on 1, first shot stopped and Natalie was ready for the rebound that did not come. Abigail tries again as Gillian shoots it out of our end, she sets of toward the Normanby net, but doesnot get to far and with the game turning the wrong way, 2-0 it is.
The third period doesn't promise much relief and although their were good individual actions, like that hard shot Jenna gave to set up Abigail and Sydney's stick preventing a goal by getting it of the goalline with lighting speed, Cali's good passing to Elyse, Alyssa great backhand on the blueline passing the puck around, Nikki's interfering with a Normanby attack. And in the 5th minute a scramble in front of the Normanby net gives us 1 goal, but with the 5 that were already on the board it did not do much for Mount Forest.
As the game goes on for those last few minutes, back in forth in our end, the fans on the stands didn't have to much exitement to keep them warm and we go for the hot chocolates...!
