The start of the game was almost a repeat from yesterday’s game, as a miscommunication in front of the Mount Forest net left the Seaforth forward alone the first goal was for them and the second very shortly after that. But Elyse caught the goalie sleeping and made our first goal. Some good defensive work from Allyson, gave Elyse the chance for the equalizer and she did not make a mistake. As Mount Forest pushes hard for the third goal, they got rewarded and for the first time tonight we are one point ahead. As the puck comes of the face off, Seaforth is all over it and Esther had to make a stop, but this game almost proved a bit to much for our goalie and pucks would be flying left and right around her, this puck however made it out our end and as the attack came very close it missed the Seaforth net by 3 inches. Mount Forest starting to pass and Elyse just missed the puck on a pass from Avery. .
As the second period gets underway the Mount Forest defence is surprised by a very fast Seaforth attacker and the score comes to 4-4. This game proves to be all about equalizers. As we get one point ahead another one finds its way in to the Mount Forest net and this goes on until we are at 7-7. Gillian goes for a breakaway and just misses the pass. Abigail gets a great pass from Elyse and with some help of the Seaforth goalie the score comes to 8-7. Elyse gets a solo in and makes it 9-7. Some good passing goes on between Natalie E. and Danielle and Natalie just missed the puck for what would have been a sure goal. Meagan does a good job keeping the puck in the zone. Then there is confusion on the Seaforth defence and as Gillian just overshot the puck, Avery did not 10-7. Seaforth does not give up and scores a five hole on Esther, 10-8. Elyse goes for the breakaway and solo makes it 11-8. Avery’s backhand just got stopped by the goalie. After a wrap around by Avery and lots of pressure by Mount Forest and with 3 seconds left on the clock the 12th and final goal is in. It was an exiting game to watch and the crowd came on their feet many times!
