ATOM GIRLS "C", U11, 2012/2013 (Mt Forest Minor Hockey Association)

Our Atom Girls travelled to Brantford this weekend to defend our title at the Walter Gretzky tournament, but this year we moved up from the House League division to the "C" division and made it all the way to the semi finals where we were eventually put out by the Sarnia Sting in a very competitive and close game.

Our Girls took to the ice "AG Style (Atom Girls)" over the holidays and should be very proud of their effort!  The team travelled to Milverton to take part in the Milverton Royals Holiday Challenge on the 27th and 28th.  With a shortened bench due to the holidays and a last minute goalie illness, AP's Brianna Gordon and Hailey Farnell joined our team to take part in some Atom Girls action and what a great job they did!  Gordon earned a shut out in the first game against the Grey Highlands Shooting Stars.  In this game, all the girls skated hard the entire game and dominated the play for 3 ...

The girls played a very strong game today against a very good TCDMHA team, but the girls are learning that if you go hard all the time good things will happen, and the the results from the last couple weeks are starting to show in the standings. Not all the girls are getting on the scoresheet but all there efforts are paying off with the girls starting to really understand positioning and how this helps the team. After having last weekend off our Atom Rams came out of the gate strong today with a 2 - 0 win over Mildmay/Teeswater.  Our girls were showing some great positional play and our opponents were definately having a hard time getting the puck passed our stone wall defense of Jaime, Aalia, Shea Lynn and Jayde.  With the majority of play in Mildmay's end, the girls created lots of chances in front of the net but it was the end to end rush from veteran Jayde McRobb that got us on the scoreboard first, followed by another unassisted goal shortly after by a hard working Morgan Flanagan who barrelled ...

We're on a roll!  Back to back wins versus Mildmay/Teeswater HL on Saturday and the Markdale Shooting Stars on Sunday.  The girls were a little uncertain entering these two games as we were without our defensive partners Jaime Glerum and Aalia Gade for the entire weekend.  A huge thanks to Taryn North and Alyssa Varallo who really stepped up to the defensive challenge and did an excellent job of keeping the two teams at bay.  Saturday's game saw us walk away with a 4-2 win over Mildmay/Teeswater and we came away Sunday with a 3-0 win over Markdale -  a first career goal for Haven LeBlanc and ...
