Great Effort
Well the girls have 5 games behind them know with the preseason wrapping up yesterday with a great game by ALL The GIRLS. The coaches emphasis the last 3 practices are about giving all out effort on the ice every time.
Well yesterdays game showed that we have 14 girls that are all on the same page. Markdale is a very strong team made up of mostly 2nd year girls against our squad of mostly 04's but with determination on their side the girls fought back from a 2-0 deficit to take the lead 3-2 only to have a Markdale sniper tie the game at 3 apiece late in the game. But that did not deter the girls and with less than a minute left , Chaise and Hailey almost buried one if not stopped by a great save by the Shooting Stars goalie.
The girls should be proud of their effort I know the coaches where very happy with the progress the kids are making and if this effort keeps up we should have a great season, especially know that we know all the girls have it in them to compete that hard. One moment in the game that made me realize how hard the kids where playing was Bailey was in a fight for the puck in front of our bench and went down, well even on her back she managed to get the puck out of our end (know that"s what I love to see), it maybe helped that she had the whole bench chanting her name as they seen the effort she put forth but I sure think all the girls took notice of that effort from her. There where many other plays like this in the game by other girls too many to list. It's great to see the girls cheering each other on like. I think maybe we might be forming a tight knit team here to be reckoned with this season if we can keep that level of play up by the whole team!
