Atom Girls, U11, 2013-2014 (Mt Forest Minor Hockey Association)

    The girls travelled to Nottawasaga this past weekend to take part in the Clearview March Madness tournament. The girls came ready to play after the disappointing end to the Silver stick tournament. They still had a bad taste from that tournament so the girls where on a mission from the get go they wanted to win!!!

The girls went undefeated at the Silver Stick in Saugeen Shores over the past weekend, first game on Friday morning we faced the Petrolia Oilers the final score was 3-1 but with some terrific goaltending on the Oilers part it kept the game close. Chaise got us on the board with a nifty little play from Jamie, 2nd goal Hailey stole the puck and buries it , 3rd goal Lexi Rice bangs in the rebound from Chaise and Ella. The girls Peppered the Petrolia goalie and she stood tall turning them away. Chaise McRobb got MVP for the first game for a good solid 2 way game.

The Christmas break is over and the girls seem to be rounding into form and playing some very good hockey the last 2 weeks . We had a great game against Markdale that ended in a 2-2 tie, this was a tremendous game played by both teams. Walkerton came to town and snuck out with a 2-1 victory but there goalie definitely held them in the game congratulations to her on a job well done.

    The girls entered in the Milverton Holiday Challlenge after Christmas , the first game we played was against Markdale the girls maybe had a little too much Christmas cheer as the shooting stars took it to them 5-1 it was a close game until roughtly 6 minutes left in the game and then Markdale buried us with 3 late goals. The second game the Christmas hangover had worn off and the girls where back playing hard coming out on top of Mitchel 4-0

Wow! What a weekend!  Our Atom Girls played hard all weekend long winning 3 out of 4 games to walk away with the consolation win at this years Markdale Shooting Stars tournament.
