Two Straight Losses
OK...it appears that hockey is a THREE period game....
The Midget Reps struggled through a couple of back to back out of town losses.
On Sunday night, we were in Listowel for an 8:30pm game.  As luck would have it, the game was delayed until just after 9:00pm.  At the end of two GOOD periods of play we were tied with Listowel at 2 a piece.  Jake Bulley and Luke McLellan scored for Mt Forest.
The third period...well let's just say the wheels came off....most of us kind of stood around and watched as Listowel whacked away at our goalie, Justin Rawn.  Justin tried his best, but when all was wrapped up Listowel strode off the ice with a, uh.....9 to 2 victory....yeh, NOT good....

Monday night, October 20th, saw us in Walkerton on a dark and wet night.  We were a little light on players due to work commitments, a suspension to serve, and poor Wes Penney nursing a sore ankle...but it was expertly wrapped !!
OK, back to the game....again, two SOLID periods of hockey with a gutsy performance by those present.  Jake Bulley again opened the scoring for Mt Forest on a break away in the first period.  Now, I won't say that the referee had his blinders on, but suffice it to say we WERE playing in Walkerton....penalties don't help gents, especially when the bench is pretty sparse.
Walkerton came out pretty hard in the third and scored a POWER PLAY goal within the first two minutes.  Justin Rawn AGAIN held us in there for a final score of 2 to 1 for Walkerton.
So, what have we learned.....have to work HARDER at positional play, have to work HARDER at breaking the puck out of our own end, have to work HARDER at gaining and maintaining control of the puck at both ends of the ice, have to work HARDER at moving opposing players from in front of our net, and we just have to work HARDER.....
It'll come gents, but you have to WORK for it and you ALL have to WANT it.....see you at practice on Wednesday night....
