Midget Rep, U18, 2008-2009 (Mt Forest Minor Hockey Association)

It's been a couple of weeks since I've sat down and hammered out an article. I apologize for that...it's been a little crazy... Anyway, what's went on ?? Your Midget Reps were away at the Wingham Silver Stick Tournament. Three games were played, 2 ties and a loss. Not good enough to continue. We also played against Hanover on November 16th. We came down as hard as the snow that night. A three nothing loss....not pretty....Our game this past Monday night, November 24th in Lucknow was cancelled because of weather.

So, back from a successful day in Durham, the Midget Reps appeared back in town for the usual Wednesday night home game. Tonights' game was against Kincardine, one of the teams we faced in the Durham Tournament, a team we beat in a shoot-out. I believe we were all feeling pretty positive about this game. But those positives withered away as just 20 SECONDS into the game Kincardine SCORED....YUCK !!

That's right folks, WE WON A TOURNAMENT !! The day began with a talk about how a TEAM of NOBODYS (que the Toronto Maple Leafs) can come together, and out of shear hard work and COMMITMENT can come out and beat ANYBODY ANYTIME....you gents can do the same !!

I apologize for the lateness of this article folks, but, I think everyone wanted to go home and let this one sink in a bit. The evening started on a lesson of COMMITMENT...you have to attend PRACTICE in order to play in the upcoming game. If the Coaches don't hear from you, we can't assume. The game started with a rather shortened bench. Hanover jumped out to a one nothing lead, however Mt Forest battled back with a goal by David Zeinstra, assisted by Burke Cameron (a recent call-up from the House team due to a rather serious soccer injury to Chris Bouwers). A BIG HELLO to all of our fans out there....I know there are many.... We were back home this past Wednesday night, against the always threatening Saugeen Shores. AGAIN, we've GOT to PLAY THREE SOLID periods of hockey gents.... I do have to say though, there are some very STRONG points to the team. Those that are watching can tell that all of you are beginning to come together as a team. Your passes are better, your puck control and your puck possession is better. It's just that you have to play three SOLID periods of hockey, not two and a half....
